Gluten Free Vegan Cranberry Sauce Recipe with Apples

This recipe for vegan cranberry sauce is made with apples for a twist on classic flavors. Super easy to make, this is the perfect addition to any plant-based holiday meal. Gluten free.

  • 3 cup cranberries , pitted (can use frozen)
  • 1 ½ cup apple , peeled and finely diced
  • cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup water
  • ¼ teaspoon salt


  • Add all ingredients to a medium-sized pot over high heat. Bring to a boil, then lower heat to medium and allow cranberry sauce to simmer until thickened, about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    3 cup cranberries, 1 ½ cup apple, ⅓ cup granulated sugar, ¾ cup water, ¼ teaspoon salt
  • The apples should break down (unless they were cut in large pieces) and the cranberries should soften and begin to break apart. The sauce thickens as the fruit cooks.
  • Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning (sugar and salt) to your taste preferences.
  • Once the sauce is thick, allow it to cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
