While it’s easy to add veggies to vegan pizza, finding higher-protein toppings can be tricky. This recipe uses BBQ-roasted chickpeas and smoked tofu!

How to Make It

Prepare Avocado Sauce

Blend avocados with lime juice, cilantro, garlic and some spices. This makes a super quick and tasty pizza sauce!

Prepare BBQ Chickpeas

Add chickpeas and BBQ sauce to a frying pan. Cook until the sauce sticks and coats the chickpeas.

Assemble Pizzas

Prepare remaining pizza ingredients, then add to pita bread (or pizza crusts). Place "wetter" vegetables on top to prevent dry pizza.

Bake and Serve

Bake in an oven until the pita bread or crust is crisp! Serve with a drizzle of avocado sauce or top with fresh herbs.
