Seitan is a meat alternative made from wheat flour. It's a fast and easy base to combine with other wet and dry ingredients!

Make Vegan "Meat"

With only 20 minutes of prep, you can always have a satisfying source of vegan protein!

Dry Ingredients: Gluten flour, Nutritional yeast, Smoked paprika, Cumin, Sage, Onion powder, Garlic powder, Turmeric, Celery seed, Dry oregano, Salt, Pepper Wet Ingredients: Baked beans, Onion, Bouillon cube, Olive oil, Soy sauce,  Apple cider vinegar

Ingredients

1. Whisk Dry Ingredients 2. Prep Wet Ingredients 3. Form Seitan Roast 4. Bake, Cool and Serve

How to Make It

Whisk Dry Ingredients

Step 1:

Add gluten flour and spices to a large mixing bowl.  Whisk until well combined.

Prep Wet Ingredients

Step 2:

Blend baked beans and onion in a food processor. Add remaining wet ingredients and mix well.

Form Seitan Roast

Step 3:

Pour your liquid mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients. Mix with a spoon, then knead with your hands. Rip into two even halves.

Step 3:

Prepare 4 sheets of tin foil.  On one sheet, load half the seitan mixture and form it into a log-shaped roast. Wrap tightly!

Step 3:

Place open edge down onto your second sheet of foil and wrap again. Repeat for the second roast.

Bake, Cool and Serve

Step 4:

Place roasts on a baking sheet and into your oven. Once cooked, allow to cool. Slice, serve and enjoy! 

Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 week. Great for weekly meal prep!
