Homemade Focaccia

Easy Herbed Focaccia

All-purpose flour Lukewarm water Agave or maple syrup Active dry yeast Olive oil Salt Cornmeal Fresh herb(s)

Ingredients

How to Make It

Activate Yeast

Step 1:

Combine lukewarm water and agave (or maple) syrup in a large mixing bowl.  Sprinkle yeast, stir and let activate (5-10 minutes).

Step 2:

When foamy, add salt, olive oil and flour. Stir until the dough starts to form.

Remove your dough from the bowl and knead. Oil bowl, return dough ball and cover with a towel.

Shape Bread

Step 3:

Cover a lined baking tray with cornmeal (optional). Place dough onto your tray and shape into a rectangle that's 1" to 1 ½" thick.

Lightly dimple the dough surface with your fingers. Cover with a towel and let double in size.

Bake and Serve

Step 4:

Top with olive oil, sea salt and fresh thyme. Bake until golden brown, then remove and slice.
