Burger Ingredients

COOK ONION + GARLIC IN OIL

In a large pan, warm some olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until the onion softens. Add minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes.

Pour in white wine vinegar and add miso paste. Mix well until fully dissolved. Next, add all the spices and stir into the onions until evenly mixed in.

MASH CHICKPEAS

Mash the chickpeas using a food processor, potato masher, or fork. Leave some texture to the chickpeas; you don’t want the mixture to be completely pureed.

STIR IN REMAINING INGREDIENTS

In a large bowl, combine the cooked onion mix, mashed chickpeas, oat flour, tahini, and chopped fresh herbs. Stir well to ensure all the ingredients are thoroughly combined.

FORM AND COOK BURGERS

Shape the mixture into patties by pressing it into a 1/3 cup measuring cup. Carefully place the patties into a heated pan and cook for about 3-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
